Based on the concept of the photographic archive as an object, the project La persistance de l’image aims to attribute a materiality to the photographic image, the latter being reintroduced into its tool of origin. Beyond the function of image production, the camera here acquires that of the image diffusion.

Proceeding with an inversion of the photographic process, each of the devices presented contains the very first image that was produced by the artist with the latter. The light emanating from the device thus makes the internal image visible, forming a symbolic whole between the tool and its original result.
